The Latina/Latino Studies Department mourns the tragic news that our colleague and LLS Affiliate Dara Goldman unexpectedly passed away May 13. Dara was a professor in the Spanish Department, and she was the Director of the Program in Jewish Studies and Culture and former director of Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
 
Those of us who knew Dara and were fortunate to have collaborated with her and spent lovely times with her [she was an avid salsa dancer] cannot fathom a university without her.
 
Her home department, all of the departments and programs to which she contributed, the college of LAS, the entire university, and the academy mourn this horrible and unexpected loss.
 
We express our deepest condolences to Dara’s family and friends.
