The Michael L Jeffries, Sr. Center for Access and Academic Success on campus provides graduate school preparation through the Federal TRIO McNair Scholars Program. This program "provides research, mentoring, advising, and graduate school preparation opportunities for eligible sophomores, juniors, and seniors to promote their academic excellence and pursuit of a PhD." The application deadline is typically mid-November.

For students interested in pursuing law, the university provides pre-law advising services. Students can also choose a pre-law designation through the LAS College office, which will provide them with pre-law resources.
