Scholarships

Dr. Jorge Chapa Memorial Scholarship in Latina/o Studies

This award honors Dr. Jorge Chapa. Scholarship recipients must be students with a demonstrated interest in Latina/o studies and majoring or minoring in LLS. They must also embody the legacy of Dr. Chapa and seek to use Latina/Latino studies to make positive change in the world.

LLS Major Scholarship

This scholarship honors the legacy of the student activists in the 1992 movement for Latina/os on campus. Eligible students must be Latina/Latino studies majors with a strong academic record.

LLS Student Conference Travel Awards

The Conference Travel Award is for students presenting at professional conferences. A limited amount of funding will be awarded to LLS undergraduate and graduate majors and minors presenting conference material (paper, poster, or other scholarly product) that specifically relates to Latina/Latino Studies.

LLS Undergraduate Research Award

The LLS Undergraduate Research Award recognizes exceptional undergraduate research and/or critical analysis in the field of Latina/Latino Studies.

Teaching Assistantships

Teaching assistantships in the Department of Latina/Latino Studies. Graduate students with teaching experience in Latina/Latino Studies and/or ethnic studies will receive priority consideration.
